Underrated Coffee Spots and Cafes on the Gold Coast

My selection of underrated coffee spots on the Gold Coast where you can skip the big crowds and 30 minute+ waits and still find great coffee and snacks!

NO. 5

Rafiki By The Sea (Location)

Attached to the Mermaid SLSC Rafiki is a trendy little spot to grab a brew on your morning walk or after a dip in the ocean, located only 30 metres from the beach the old saying really is true LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION, Rafiki has quality coffee but where it really shines are it’s breakie wraps in my opinion! If you pop down here on a Wednesday morning at 6 am you can even meet up and go for a dip with the mindpak crew across the road at the beach before coming up for a brew and a chat afterwards!

NO. 4

Cadence Cafe (inland option)

Let’s head inland for a moment.... all the way to Nerang. Now if your a cyclist, mountain biker or trail runner this ones no secret to you. But if that last sentence doesn’t describe you listen up, Cadence is a popular coffee spot for people who have just finished up working out at the velodrome or the trails in Nerang state forest and subsequently they do a bunch of great nutritious food perfect to fuel you after a workout. If working outs are not for you they also have plenty of seating and good coffee so sit back and relax.

Earth‑N‑Sea Pizza and Pasta ($10 Breakie)

The $10 breakfast is unreal value for money with eggs your way, bacon, grilled tomato, thick toast and a hash brown plus fork out a little bit of Extra dough for a great coffee and there isn’t a better option to fuel up before a big day surfing the superbank!

QUADE & CO. (Hidden Gem)

Set back from the beach alongside the Gold Coast highway, Quade & Co. offers quality coffee and snacks (think smashed avo, croissants, assorted slices) I like to think of this cafe as the hidden gem of this list, in an area chock full of “trendy” cafes. Quade & Co. stands out as an affordable, quality option for your morning brew, with friendly staff and plenty of seats inside and out!

NO. 1

Little Mali (#1)

I think the secret is out that little Mali has some of the best coffee (and friendliest barista’s on the GC) but it still makes my list as it’s often overlooked for more “instagrammable” cafes. Your dine in/seating options are limited here but with the beach only a hop skip and a jump away there’s no better place to grab a brew and watch the surfers!
