Adventure is cups of coffee in the early hours, waiting for the world to wake. It’s a day hike that accidentally turned into an overnighter (and a lifelong memory). Some collect art, stamps, or antique plates (sorry Nan). Adventurers collect experiences, they live for unique circumstances that push their creativity and adaptability to the edge.
Huge granite faces stare out into what seems like endless miles of sea as Mount Oberon casts its shadow on the neighbouring peaks well before the sun truly sets, adding a needless sense of urgency to my ascent.
An odd sight, wearing compression skins, a rashie and an Osprey hydration pack. I wandered down to the beach with a 10’6 “Clubbie Board” under my arm. Dragging the board to the waters edge I stopped to ask a stranger to take a photo of me for this article. Of course, then came the big question “where are you going?”.
